While every act we do is for the better health of our region, sometimes it’s nice to be recognized for the hard work we put in to make our state a model for the country.
So I was honored when Politico acknowledged me as one of the top climate power brokers in California.
The article notes: “Friedman has focused on the intersection of transportation and climate as the chair of the Assembly Transportation Committee. She’s been instrumental in the push for wildlife crossings and aligning transportation spending with state climate goals… She’s also passed bills addressing toxic chemicals and water conservation.”
That doesn’t even include having used my time in the legislature to put California on a path to phase out single-use plastics and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in our buildings by 40 percent over the next decade!
I will always be uncompromising in my commitment to combating the climate crisis and building sustainable, healthy methods of transportation for our people.
And at a time when Big Energy and Fossil Fuel magnates continue to put their thumb on the scales of our nation’s environmental policies, I will bring about effective environmental change in Congress.
