The latest push by GOP-controlled states attempts to criminalize seeking abortion health care across state borders.

Idaho, one of the first states to attempt the criminalization of health care access, has been quickly put in check by the courts. A judge ruled Idaho cannot prosecute out-of-state referrals for reproductive care.

Still, the GOP isn't letting up. We will not stop fighting their unconstitutional, overreaching attempts to further strip our freedoms.

It has been over one year since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Now, one in three have lost access to abortion. In low-income communities of color, the effects have been even harsher. And tens of thousands have traveled to another state to seek abortion health care.

In a far reach into personal freedoms and rights, some GOP states are now attempting to criminalize traveling out of state for reproductive care. GOP lawmakers in at least half a dozen states are trying to extend their influence outside their own borders when it comes to abortion law.

These “laws” seem impossible to enforce–there is no legal precedent for states to criminally charge their residents for getting abortions outside of their borders. Not to mention this is wildly unconstitutional. But this isn’t stopping GOP lawmakers from enacting criminal penalties for accessing abortion and violating our human rights.

Continued threats and attempts of abortion criminalization raise immediate urgency to fight back. We must put a stop to these attacks and stop allowing right-wing zealots the platforms to continue to make up rules restricting our human rights.

We stand for educating the public as to where and how to access their health care, providing the infrastructure and support that allows all to access an abortion, and expanding that access wherever we can–we cannot forget that abortion is a winning issue and right-wing politicians cannot overrule the voters.
