They also have a crucial role in assessing the need for and implementing a naloxone program on campus. To help address the drug overdose crisis, NASN has created a Naloxone Education Toolkit, which offers a range of resources for school nurses and leaders. Emergency preparedness plans are standard practice for schools, and it is equally important for them to prepare to handle drug overdose emergencies. The toolkit is organized into three sections: Creating a Naloxone Program in Your School, Campus Protocols for Emergency Naloxone Administration, and Communication Resources. This comprehensive guide empowers schools to address the drug overdose crisis and take action to prevent and manage potential emergencies. Kate King, DNP, MS, RN, LSN NASN President Better Health. NASN offers a toolkit to help school nurses implement evidence-based programs to address the harmful impact of vaping on youth. NASN membership includes a subscription to JOSN. Have you gained valuable insights from a successful or challenging experience that could inspire and benefit school nurses? Please consider presenting at NASN2024, Stronger Together, to share your wisdom and experiences with school nurses nationwide.
