We are honored to share with you our first documentary film, “Caminantes.” This experience will take you inside the arduous journey of a group of Venezuelan migrants that have fled their homeland in search of a better life. Unable to afford a bus ticket, they journey by foot into Colombia and toward an uncertain future. The short film was an official selection at this year’s Madrid International Film Festival, the LA Latinx Film Festival, the Madrid Film Awards, the McMinnville Short Film Festival, as well as the Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival. | |
2. A momentous milestone for aid in Ukraine
In the year and a half since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Americares has provided more than $114 million in aid to help meet the health needs of displaced families and survivors of the war. 3. Florida is still recovering from Hurricane Ian one year later
One year ago, Hurricane Ian pummeled Florida as a Category 4 storm leaving a path of destruction and impacting thousands of families in its wake. Americares rushed eight tons of medical supplies and provided emergency funding, which helped local clinics stay open and provide care, hire surge staff and recover from the damage and destruction.
