As we move closer to our FEC fundraising deadline in just 9 days, we want to recap what has been an eventful several months here on Team Whitesides:
- First, the race for CA-27 continues to be rated a “toss-up” by political experts. President Biden won here in 2020 -- and it’s clear GOP Rep. Mike Garcia is feeling the heat from our campaign’s strong momentum.
- George has been endorsed by key members of the community and national figures alike. Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell are recent endorsers, among other environmental, labor, and local organizations.
- But, national Republicans are ramping up attacks on our campaign because they know if we flip CA-27 blue, the House majority is within Democrats’ grasp. In addition to Kevin McCarthy’s super PAC moving to spend millions of dollars in critical districts like ours, Fox News recently published lies about our movement.
Our campaign is gaining momentum, but based on the recent actions of the GOP, this will not be an easy fight.
Come October, our fundraising over the last three months will be made public. You can bet that Mike Garcia, national Republicans, and the media alike will be combing over the report.
