You may have seen the headlines: 

 

• Bangor Daily: Susan Collins protests dress code change, saying she will ‘wear a bikini’

• NY Post: Susan Collins jokes she’ll ‘wear a bikini’ in protest of ‘Fetterman Rule’: ‘There’s no dress code anymore’

• Business Insider: Sen. Susan Collins says she'd 'wear a bikini' to the Capitol in protest after the Senate loosened its dress code

But don’t let Swimsuit Susan’s bikini comments bury the lead. The best way to restore dignity to the Senate is to vote out Susan Collins and all of her friends, and we’re committed to getting the job done.

 

 

Despite Senator Collins’ claims of moderation and expressions of “concern”, she has been a reliable vote for Mitch McConnell whenever it really matters. We would do well to ask ourselves, where was Senator Collins’ spirit of “protest” when she:

 

• Voted with her party for the Trump tax cuts that dug the deficit event deeper while giving tax breaks to her wealthy friends? 

 

• Sold out American women by voting to confirm the Supreme Court nominations of Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh?

 

• Voted against the Inflation Reduction Act’s historic investments to tackle climate change, funded by closing tax loopholes exploited by large corporations, and cracking down on wealthy people who cheat on their taxes, citing “deficit concerns”?

 

Bikini or not, we see you, Susan. Your “principled” stances are built on nothing but sand. 

 

We’re gearing up for another election year in a battleground state, and we know that most of the sand-flinging is yet to come. Pitch in today to support the Maine Democratic Party as we hold Republicans accountable for their hypocrisy from the Senate to the State House. We need your help to keep Maine blue!
