Hybrid event hosted by the Carter Center's China Focus in partnership
with Emory University, Georgia State University, Spelman College, and
the China Research Center in Atlanta.

The relationship between the United States and China faces significant
challenges, particularly in technology and national security.
Unfortunately, many misconceptions surround the development of the
Chinese data governance system, often exacerbated by sensationalized
discussions in the public discourse on U.S.-China relations. This
symposium aims to dispel these myths and provide a nuanced
understanding of Chinese data governance and its implications for
U.S.-China relations. It seeks to foster open and critical dialogue
among scholars, policymakers, and practitioners, offering an in-depth
update on the topic.
