Today is the last day of early voting and I wanted to share an amazing thing with you.
In our race to replace an 8-term incumbent, there has been over $2,000,000 dollars spent by our democratic opponents and yet we still have a great chance to win the nomination on Tuesday. Help us finish the job!
This is because we have the backing of the people:
- Our campaign has received more individual donations than anyone else in the race.
- Our campaign has earned the support of every Democratic group to endorse in this election.
- Our campaign has earned the support of both the Austin Chronicle and Houston Chronicle.
- Our campaign has knocked on nearly 40,000 doors in our district.
- Our campaign has received more donations from inside our district than all of our Democratic opponents and Michael McCaul combined.
The incumbent Republican we are facing is one of the wealthiest members of Congress. Money alone will never defeat him; he is worth over $300 million. It will take a movement of people, meeting voters in person, to overcome his corporate cash and gerrymandered advantage.
That is why we can win. Our campaign has the people power to challenge that kind of candidate. We went up against McCaul in 2018 with him outspending us nearly 4 to 1 and we turned a 19% GOP advantage to just 4% on Election Day.
