I wanted to reach out to introduce you to someone special to me – Jessica Morse who is running for Congress here in Northern California’s Congressional District 3!

I’m so excited because she’s not only a fellow badass woman working to defend our forests and public lands, but she has a passion for serving our community – something the incumbent and MAGA darling, Kevin Kiley, lacks. She’s also the person who inspired me to run for CA-01 in 2018.

Jessica grew up in Carmichael and her family has been here for generations. Her ancestors crossed the Sierra on covered wagons and settled in the Sierra foothills. I see that bravery and commitment to the West’s natural beauty in Jessica.

She’s worked as the Deputy Secretary for Forest and Wildland Resilience at the California Natural Resources Agency on the frontlines of our wildfire crisis. She was then appointed to the U.S. Wildland Fire Mitigation and Management Commission, helping develop strategies to reshape our wildfire policies.

She loves our land as much as I do – she’s even hiked 500 miles of the district on the Pacific Crest Trail!

But most importantly, she’s a problem solver who will run towards a problem while her opponent is working against the best interests of California and our communities. She’s running to bring a level head and policy expertise to a seat that’s been held by a conspiracy theorist and election denier for too long.
