The Working Artist: Bridging the Gap Between Creativity and Success


Thursday, April 2, 5:30-8 pm


Join us and enjoy an evening of networking, up-close entertainment and refreshments; gain valuable insider information on union affiliation; expand your knowledge of the business side of the arts and more!

Open to all across artistic and entertainment disciplines (performers, stage & film, writers, designers, etc.), students and recent graduates of creative programs, and non-union and newly inducted union members.

The Career Center

The Career Center offers a comprehensive suite of programs and services that help entertainment industry and performing arts professionals to identify and find sideline work and discover new careers outside the industry.
 
Get started by attending The Career Center Orientation (afternoon and evening sessions) to enroll in the career services offered.
 
Additional workshops include Job Search Fundamentals, Job Search Seminar: Personal Branding Part 1 and Part 2, and Job Search Seminar: Networking Principles and Practices.

Financial Wellness workshops and seminars increase your financial knowledge and help you learn the tools and skills to support lifelong financial health and stability.

Health & Health Insurance

The Actors Fund offers personalized health insurance counseling and enrollment support, referrals to health care resources, primary medical care at The Friedman Health Center for the Performing Arts and seminars on how to best care for yourself.

Each month’s Health Insurance HQ provides an update on the health care landscape from the expert team at The Actors Fund’s Artists Health Insurance Resource Center. This month, learn about the new Public Charge rule in effect as of February 24, 2020 that will affect some immigrants whose use of certain public benefits may be a barrier to receiving a visa or green card.

The Actors Fund operates several affordable housing residences across the country, and also offers resources to help you learn more about affordable housing opportunities and other housing-related issues you may encounter.

Social Services

With respect and understanding, our professional social workers offer our community help to address a wide array of challenges via counseling and support groups, education and practical help—completely free of charge.

Notify NYC is a new program from the New York City Office of Emergency Management designed to keep you up to date about emergencies and services that impact all New Yorkers, whether it’s at home, work or in the community. Choose from alerts about events, public health, school closings and delays, and parking rules suspensions, and have them sent to your either your email or mobile phone.
