Our public lands are our communal American birthright — all 640 million acres of them.

National Public Lands Day is coming up this week — and it’s a critical reminder that we should be working to preserve our public lands and waters every day of the year.

In New Mexico, we have woven public lands into the fabric of our lives. I have spent countless hours with my family hiking, camping, fishing, and hunting on our lands and waters.

I am fighting in the Senate every day to protect and celebrate our public lands and waters — for my sons and future generations.

That’s why I am proud to sponsor legislation like the Simplifying Outdoor Access for Recreation Act to simplify our complicated recreational permitting process so that it’s easier to enjoy our beautiful public lands, and the Recovering America's Wildlife Act to invest in the protection of at-risk species and public lands.

In honor of National Public Lands Day, will you add your name in support of preserving our public lands and waters for years to come?

Thank you for joining me in this fight,
