** Announcing our second honoree for Evening Over Violence: Dr. Debra Duardo!

Dr. Duardo is the Superintendent of Los Angeles County Schools and receiving the Humanitarian Award for Education. She has devoted her life to making education accessible for all children, especially those that are marginalized or underserved. Using her own personal experiences to motivate her, Dr. Duardo has transformed from high school drop out to now overseeing education for the nation's most populous and diverse county - serving nearly two million children. She has been a longtime friend of POV (and former staff member!) and we are thrilled to be honoring her this year.
