Hi John, it’s Emilia.

Now that I’ve been in Congress for nine months, I wanted to take a moment and reach out personally to let you know what serving Northeast Ohio – my beloved home – means to me and give you an update on the state of our race.

(But before I do, I have to ask: At the end of the month, my team faces yet another challenge as we reach the end of the fundraising quarter. The success of our team this month will directly impact the success of our team next November, so will you please consider chipping in $5 to help our team end September on a strong note?)

Simply put: I know how hard the people of Northeast Ohio work because I’ve seen it all my life.

Growing up in Akron, I quickly learned that working families throughout our community aren’t given the same opportunities or a level playing field that others enjoy. And that’s exactly why I entered a career in public service, John: To change the status quo.

That’s why I worked across the aisle in the Ohio House to fight for higher wages, working and middle-class tax cuts, and other legislation that would put more money in the pockets of Northeast Ohioans. And that’s why, last year, I ran for – and won – one of the most competitive House seats in the country – despite all of the pollsters counting out our scrappy grassroots team.

Our community deserves a fierce advocate on the federal level – someone who isn’t afraid to stand up to people who are standing in the way of progress; someone who will advocate for our jobs, healthcare, and freedoms; and someone who will work to make the day to day a little bit easier. And that’s exactly what I’m trying to do, every day, in Washington.

John, my promise to you is that I’ll always strive to be that type of leader, and that I’ll never stop fighting for the community I love. And when it comes to fighting for Northeast Ohio, I’m only just getting started.

But with our district being the most competitive in Ohio – and one of the most competitive in the entire nation – I’m going to need your help to ensure I can keep pushing for progress in Washington.

Please, is there any amount you can pitch in to our people-powered campaign today? Your support will make all the difference.
