During the August recess, Sharice remained hard at work, talking directly to KS-03 farmers on her Farm Bill Listening Tour. Already, she’s made stops at family-owned farms across the Third District, from Ratliff Jerseys Dairy Farm in Garnett to the Barnes Family Farm in Ottawa.
We need to update and reauthorize the Farm Bill this year. And as a member of the House Committee on Agriculture, Sharice is committed to making sure Congress reauthorizes the Farm Bill.
Big decisions will be made to move this legislation forward—from updates to laws around trading crops with other countries, to nutrition issues, to conservation efforts in the face of a climate crisis. That’s why we need to hear from you.
Sharice has already prioritized helping Kansas farmers increase their sustainability, working with the USDA to award federal funding for climate-smart initiatives in local dairy farms. She’s determined to continue that cause.
To help farmers fight the climate crisis and save crops, she wants to implement conservation programs, sustainable forestry, and further research with the new Farm Bill.
Nothing is more critical to Sharice than hearing what you are most concerned with. That’s why we’re asking to hear from you. Do you support Sharice's work to hear from farmers all across KS-03? What do you want to see in the Farm Bill? Click below to let her know.
