John,
Jane Fonda here.
I wanted to take a moment between events at Climate Week to share some big news with you, and express gratitude to California Governor Gavin Newsom for his recent decision to sue Big Oil for the harm they’ve caused to our communities.
For far too long, the fossil fuel industry lied to our communities about burning planet-warming fossil fuels and its consequences to our planet. As a result, extreme heat waves, floods, drought, and wildfires across the continent are affecting vulnerable frontline communities at an unprecedented rate.
Thankfully, Governor Newsom understands that the climate crisis is actually a fossil fuels crisis. Earlier this week, I had a chance to thank him in person for his leadership on this issue.

This is a major step forward in the fight against the climate crisis, but we can’t stop here — we need to elect climate champions up and down the ballot across the country.
Will you contribute $10 today to help us put an end to the reign of fossil fuels and elect climate champions up and down the ballot?

We need to fight back against Big Oil as they continue to spend millions of dollars to keep their political allies in elected office to get approval on oil and gas drilling projects in states like California while dodging accountability for the impacts of climate change on local communities.
Will you contribute $10 right away and join our movement to hold the fossil fuel industry accountable and end the era of fossil fuels?

More Soon,
Jane Fonda
P.S. You can send a thank you message to Gov. Newsom here.
