"‘Virginia Is the Test Case’: Youngkin Pushes for G.O.P. Takeover This Fall - Glenn Youngkin, a popular Republican governor with national ambitions, is trying to help his party take full control of state government in crucial legislative races this year."
Folks,
Republicans in Virginia are using our legislative elections in November as the “test case” for 2024.
Here’s what that means: The GOP has destructive plans for the Commonwealth, including:
- Passing voter suppression laws like prohibiting ballot drop boxes, decreasing early voting, limiting voter registration, and repealing the permanent absentee voter list.
- Enacting a strict abortion ban – joining the rest of the South in restricting a woman’s right to choose.
- Giving out big corporate tax cuts instead of lowering costs for Virginia families.
- Rolling back progress Democrats have made on gun safety, including background checks, red flag laws, and more.
- Cutting back Medicaid expansion for hundreds of thousands of Virginians.
If you, like Mark, think these policies will only hurt Virginians, chip in $5 to help him elect Democrats who will stop these dangerous plans from being passed.

Republicans in other states are keeping a watchful eye on our elections because they want to learn from the GOP in the Commonwealth. If the GOP flips the Virginia Senate and holds on to the House of Delegates, nothing will be stopping them from enacting these disastrous policies. Then it’s only a matter of time before Republicans around the country take note – what voter suppression tactics worked that they can adopt, what other gun safety legislation should’ve been rolled back – and follow suit.
What happens in this election will inevitably impact the rest of the country. We don’t take that lightly.
Please, if you can, contribute today to make sure Democrats have the support they need to win both chambers so they can lead the way for a Blue 2024 and a brighter future >> [link removed]
