Enhancing Advocacy, Financing and Accountability: From Civil Society to the SDG Summit and Beyond

The UN SDG Action Campaign and the UN Foundation organized the Civil Society Dialogue at the UN Secretariat (ECOSOC Chamber), on 16 September 2023 during the UN SDG Action Weekend. The Dialogue provided a remarkable platform for dialogue and exchange between the representatives from civil society organizations, youth, women’s groups, persons with disabilities and indigenous groups together with the UN SDG Summit co-facilitator H.E. Mr. Fergal Mythen and the UN Secretary-General, H.E. Mr. António Guterres.

SDG Summit Political Declaration adopted

World leaders agree to take immediate action to unlock more financing for developing countries and step up efforts to deliver the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

SDG Media Zone: The Future of Gender Equality

In The Future of Gender Equality: A Conversation on Gender Balance and Women’s Empowerment, DW’s US Correspondent Janelle Dumalaon probed the current status of gender equality efforts with Denmark's former Minister of Gender Equality Trine Bramsen, CIVICUS Secretary-General Lysa John, and UN SDG Action Campaign Global Director Marina Ponti, to hear directly from them what more could be done to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
