Also in 2019, Jordan complained that Democrats didn’t have the votes “to do this right.” After McCarthy opened the impeachment inquiry without holding a vote, Jordan said Republicans “don’t need” the votes to move forward.
The hypocrisy is always the giveaway. Neither Jim Jordan nor Kevin McCarthy believe a word of the drivel that comes out of their mouths. No one else should, either—but that won’t stop the MAGA base from calling the shots and demanding that our government be used to install Trump as president and shield him from the consequences of his criminal actions.
We can’t let them win.
