Join us on Saturday, Oct. 28, as Rebekah Simon-Peter leads an in-person event focused on practical pathways forward for all ministry contexts. Our time together will include learning, conversation and application. Both laity and clergy on ministry teams are encouraged to attend. September is National Disaster Preparedness Month
With natural disasters on the rise and hurricane season off to a strong start, the Missouri Conference has set a goal of collecting 250 UMCOR cleaning kits by the end of the month. We are upping the goal to 700 Cleaning kits (aka flood buckets) to provide essential clean-up supplies to people who have experienced a natural disaster. Deploying kits is just one way Missouri United Methodists show up and serve when it matters most. Getting involved is easy: Gather the cleaning kit supplies, assemble the kit and drop it off at your nearest Missouri Disaster Response Hub. The hub for Southeast Missouri is at New McKendree UMC in Jackson.

Has your congregation ever struggled with getting people to not only come to your services, but to then return? It can be hard to put a thumb on what is preventing people from coming back and finding a place within your church community. In her newest blog, Yvonne Gentile - author of Serving from the Heart and The Art of Hospitality - digs into this question and gives you measurable ways to grade your guest's first time experience.
