Hello there -- my colleagues and I in the House are busy passing progressive legislation that helps all Americans, but my friend Katie Porter took the time last week to write an important message about the importance of coming together to beat Donald Trump. Friends,

Donald Trump campaigned on "draining the swamp" of corruption. Yet, in the three years of the Trump administration, five members of Trump's cabinet have been forced to resign due to corruption. (Not to mention Trump's own abuse of power for political gain that led to his impeachment.)

These aren't anomalies. His policies are also designed to help his megadonors, not the working class or those in poverty:

- His tax bill for billionaires and corporations added nearly $2 trillion to the deficit while doing nothing for workers. In fact, he's trying to make up the money by kicking hundreds of thousands off food stamps and making it more difficult for people with disabilities to access benefits.

- When Congress wouldn't go along with his efforts to repeal the ACA, he turned to supporting a lawsuit aimed at undoing the law with no protections in place for people with pre-existing conditions.

- Trump's 2021 budget wish list includes cuts to Medicare and Medicaid and massive cuts to the Environmental Protection Agency with zero acknowledgment of the climate crisis we're in or the staggering impact it will have on our children.

This is who he's always been. He's going to continue to lie and mislead voters to hold onto power, and if we don't fight back, there's a real chance he could be re-elected.

Progressive Majority is fighting back against Trump and his agenda, working non-stop to protect and expand our majority in the House, and turning out crucial Democratic voters across the country in November. But donations have slowed down this week, so I'm writing to ask for your help.
