Dear John,

We should never have to choose between our jobs and taking care of our families – especially in the world's richest country.

But millions of people in the U.S. are forced to choose under our current paid leave policies – or lack thereof. The U.S. is one of the only six countries in the world without paid leave.

That’s why we’re gathering over 50,000 signatures from people like you, John, to tell Congress we need a national paid leave policy that works for people and businesses. Sign onto our petition if you agree. [[link removed]]

We should all have access to paid time off when we need it – whether that’s to care for ourselves, welcome a newborn or newly adopted child, or provide care for aging or disabled family members. But that just isn’t the case right now.

* Only 1 in 4 workers receive paid family and medical leave.
* Only 1 in 5 workers have access to paid sick time.
* Workers and their families lose billions of dollars each year due to the lack of a federal paid leave program.

We’re joining partners like Paid Leave for All and Parents Together to collect 50,000 signatures from care advocates like you and call on lawmakers to pass a national paid leave program. Add your name now, John! [[link removed]]

Together, we’re building a care movement that ensures all of us – no matter who we are – can access care whenever and wherever we need it. We’ve seen momentum building for paid leave policies in the past few months. Just this summer, we saw Maine and Minnesota pass paid leave programs, and a paid leave bill almost crossed the finish line in Illinois. We need to take this momentum to the national level.

This work is only possible because of advocacy from people like you. Adding your name to this petition is a crucial part.

Thanks for being in this fight with us,
