John, I'm asking for $5. Here's why: 

Shortly after the end of this month, my fundraising numbers are going public – and I have to show my opponents and all who are watching that I have a strong team of grassroots supporters behind my movement for change. 

But right now, we're pacing behind on fundraising. John, if we fall short now, we may have to make some tough budget cuts come October – and I'm trying to do everything in my power to avoid that.
