Why we are 350: Scientists overwhelmingly agree that 350ppm CO2 is the upper limit to sustain life as humans have lived it. For 800,000+ years atmospheric CO2 varied between roughly 180 to 280ppm ([link removed]) .

Shutting Down Bank Funding of Fossil Fuels:
Training on Sept 25

Are you tired of seeing big banks continue to fund fossil fuels and climate destruction? If so, join 350 Milwaukee and 350 Wisconsin in shutting down local Chase banks in Milwaukee and Madison this fall. We are seeking volunteers for a variety of action and support roles.

Join 350 Wisconsin on Monday September 25th at 7 pm. for a virtual kickoff meeting for our fall bank actions. Register here for the Zoom link to the meeting ([link removed]) . After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

At our kickoff meeting, we will:
* Prepare you for participating in or supporting Nonviolent Direct Actions at the banks
* Give an overview of planned actions in October
* Form into groups who will carry out actions

We are targeting Chase Bank because JP Morgan Chase has provided $4.1 billion to Enbridge, the pipeline company aggressively expanding pipelines throughout the midwest. This is part of the $434 billion in financing JP Morgan Chase has provided to the fossil fuel industry over the last seven years (2016-2022).

Chase claims to support the Paris Climate Accords, yet is the largest funder of fossil fuel projects. This makes them the #1 funder of climate death.

It is past time for Chase bank to stop funding the expansion of tar sands pipelines and other climate-damaging projects. Join us in demanding that Chase stop providing loans to expand fossil-fuel infrastructure. Chase must stop funding climate chaos.

You can register here ([link removed]) for this important kickoff meeting. If you want to join an action group, but cannot make this meeting, contact [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) . Also contact us if you want to organize a group for action outside of Madison or Milwaukee.

Help us put pressure on Chase to stop funding fossil fuel projects, and help publicize the damage Chase is doing to the climate. We have already shut down local Chase branches three times this year. Let’s shut down three more in the next three months!

Chase & Wells Fargo Banks
Many banks (including Chase and Wells Fargo) are lending their depositor's money to fossil fuel companies to develop new fossil fuel production.

We want more people to be aware of this and hopefully change their bank or talk to the bank management!

We get honks and thumbs up from drivers and passersby. Some people stop and have a chat about what the banks are doing, or ask, "What is fossil fuel ([link removed]) ?"

We're alternating between two Chase Bank locations.
