Let me tell you about Mad Dean. She’s a badass defender of the people who sticks up for our rights in the face of attacks from MAGA extremists. She’s also just a great lady.

I met Mad when we became unlikely allies in 2017. Despite our rivalry in the race for Lieutenant Governor, we connected on our statewide travels and a real friendship began to grow. One night Mad hosted an ice cream social in Harrisburg, and even though we were opponents, her brother Bob invited me to stop by, so I did. We stood side by side, scooping ice cream for happy — and slightly confused — voters. 🍦🍦🍦

Now in 2023, Mad and I are standing side by side on non-ice cream-related issues, and we still manage to have a little fun along the way. Like me, Mad is a proud Pennsylvanian who has spent her career advocating for her neighbors and their communities. I respect that.

But the GOP thinks Democrats like Mad and me — committed to service and bringing results to the Keystone state — are a threat to their so-called ‘way of life’.
