There are few people unaffected by the gun violence epidemic in the United States, whether directly impacted or living in fear of the next tragedy. Already this year our country has experienced over 500 mass shootings and gun violence has become the number one killer of our children . If we are going to finally end this deadly epidemic, we need a whole-of-government approach, and this new office would ensure the executive branch is focused and coordinated on proven solutions that will save lives.
This is a critical move, John, but it is not the end of our fight. Executive action alone won’t be enough to end gun violence and we need Congress to follow Biden’s lead and make gun violence prevention their priority.
