This is huge, friend.
For years – even before Biden took office – Brady has been calling for an Office of Gun Violence Prevention in the White House to further focus our movement’s work and effectively direct lifesaving efforts.
And now, our longtime advocacy is paying off: President Biden is set to announce the creation of an Office of Gun Violence Prevention this Friday, in a move that will galvanize our efforts to save lives from gun violence.
This is a turning point, friend, changing how the federal government responds to an epidemic that kills tens of thousands of Americans each year. Ahead of the official announcement, will you add your name to our urgent petition to support the Biden Administration’s consequential move? [[link removed]]

This announcement is yet another instance of Biden using his presidential power to its fullest potential in addressing our nation’s gun violence epidemic, having used executive action to regulate deadly ghost guns and expand Brady Background Checks. It emphasizes the administration’s understanding that gun violence is a public health emergency that must be a priority.
There are few people unaffected by the gun violence epidemic in the United States, whether directly impacted or living in fear of the next tragedy. Already this year our country has experienced over 500 mass shootings and gun violence has become the number one killer of our children . If we are going to finally end this deadly epidemic, we need a whole-of-government approach, and this new office would ensure the executive branch is focused and coordinated on proven solutions that will save lives.
This is a critical move, friend, but it is not the end of our fight. Executive action alone won’t be enough to end gun violence and we need Congress to follow Biden’s lead and make gun violence prevention their priority. That’s why we want to show immense support for Biden’s creation of an Office of Gun Violence Prevention and make it clear to our lawmakers that this is the kind of bold action that our country needs.
Brady is putting our full, unflinching support behind this move – will you join us? >> [[link removed]]

I look forward to joining President Biden and Vice President Harris at the White House on Friday as they make this important announcement. If we keep working together, we will finally end our nation’s suffering.
Thank you for your continued support in our movement, friend.
