Friend,
This will be one of the longest emails you’ll ever receive from me, so it would mean a lot if you read it to the end.
I’m running a campaign for and by the people – so as we gear up to keep the Senate blue, I don’t want there to be any confusion over our team’s grassroots organizing strategy. I’m going to outline exactly how we plan to win and make history.
But before I do that I need to ask – will you make a donation of $25 or more towards our end-of-quarter goal? We have to publicly report our fundraising numbers at the end of the month and we’re currently pacing 34% behind.
Step 1: Organize in Every Corner of the State
Delaware is a state of neighbors so the secret to winning here is to not to write anyone off. No county is too small, too Republican, or too anything for us to compete for their votes. We need to go everywhere and talk to everyone.
To reach every single voter, we need a budget for organizing and advertising in each corner of Delaware. And at the end of the month, we have a huge FEC deadline. We’ll publicly report how much we’ve raised for the second time since launching our campaign. Everyone will be poring over our report to see if we have what it takes to keep this seat blue.
Step 2: Put People First, Not Special Interests
I’m in this fight for families like yours – not special interests or mega-donors. I’m running to make quality education accessible to all, repair the justice system, protect abortion and voting rights, and more.
My GOP opponent will rely on special interests and dark-money groups to fund his campaign. But I’m not interested in shortcuts at the expense of our community and our values. In a race as historic as this one, the right thing to do is not always the easy thing. That’s why I’m counting on supporters like you to help power this movement to victory.
Step 3: Focus on the Issues that Matter
Everyday Americans aren’t focused on the political infighting that consumes Washington. Instead, they want to talk about lowering the costs of prescription drugs and making sure their families will have affordable, quality health care even if they lose their job. They want to talk about protecting their homes from the threat of increased flooding due to climate change.
I want to be a voice for families like yours in the Senate. But first, I need to reach my $100,000 end-of-quarter goal and that happens when folks like you chip in what you can to emails like this one. So please, will you rush $25 or more before our fast approaching FEC deadline?
