Team,

Yesterday, I had a press call with the Michigan Democratic Party to talk about reports that former president Donald Trump plans to skip the GOP debate to come to Michigan. He's politicizing a moment that may come to define the future of the American auto industry. It is simply unacceptable.

Trump spent his term as president exploiting working men and women of America and now, he wants to use the bravery of Michigan autoworkers as a photo-op to distract from his own history of profiting from the labor of working families.

But I tell it like it is and I'm not going to let him lie to Michiganders. Trump put forward policies that shipped jobs overseas. He's said himself that EVs will be built in China. He's not fighting for the auto industry or auto workers, he's fighting for his billionaire friends. He made promises that he would keep jobs in Michigan and then blamed others when jobs in our state's auto industry actually fell under his policies.

Under Trump’s failed presidency, it was auto workers and their families who suffered. And now, it’s up to us to protect Michigan, and America, from Trump’s empty promises.

In 2024, we need to come together to elect leaders who will stand up for working Americans and who are ready to fight back against special interests so we can build back our economy and lift up the working middle class.

I need to know if you’re with me, Team. Please sign my pledge to not only vote but pledge to get to work in 2024 to reach Michigan voters and turn them out to vote for strong leaders like me and other Democrats on the ballot. [[link removed]]

Thank you,

– Debbie
