Dear Friend,
Last week, the Speaker of the House directed three House committees to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Biden. This phase of an impeachment inquiry provides an opportunity for the House to formally outline the scope of its investigation and further provides notice to the accused and transparency to the public. President Biden’s abject failure to uphold his constitutional responsibility to protect our citizens against invasion by defending and securing our borders, in my opinion, is clearly a violation of his oath of office and on its own is reason enough to consider impeachment.
Moreover, the investigations into whether President Biden and his family have profited by leveraging his official positions must absolutely continue. House Republicans are uncovering more and more credible evidence of corruption by President Joe Biden through a slew of Committee hearings, witness testimony, document production, and rigorous oversight. What has been uncovered so far should shock all Americans, and unfortunately we are seeing that where there is smoke, there is indeed fire. The American people deserve to know that public offices are not for sale – and that the federal government is not being used to cover up the actions of a politically-powerful family.
However, we cannot allow investigations into the President’s pay-to-play schemes to distract Congress from getting our fiscal house in order. Over the coming weeks, we are facing a government funding deadline and must act to responsibility restrain spending so as to undo the damage Biden and Congressional Democrats have done to our country.

Ensuring America’s youth – and our next generation of leaders – fully understands the importance of freedom and democracy in the United States is vital. We must educate our students about the horrors of communism and totalitarianism which is why I recently joined Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar (R-FL) and 26 colleagues to reintroduce H.R. 5349, the Crucial Communism Teaching (CCT) Act. The CCT Act makes educational materials available through the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation – which was founded in 1993 by a unanimous act of Congress and is dedicated to educating Americans about the ideology, history, and legacy of communism. The CCT Act helps teach middle and high school students about the dangers of communism and totalitarianism, and how those systems are contrary to the founding principles of freedom and democracy in the United States.

Since Joe Biden took office, there have been over 5.8 million illegal border crossings, and this crisis is only getting worse. This is a complete failure, and Biden’s historic illegal immigration crisis has turned every community into a border community. Cartels are now making $13 billion a year smuggling illegal immigrants into the United States. Customs and Border Protection has reported that fentanyl seizures this Fiscal Year have already surpassed FY22 seizure totals. The lack of any action by this administration is only enabling the situation to get worse.
Even Biden’s Department of Homeland Security has now admitted that 40 percent of catch-and-release migrants have disappeared. Biden would rather ignore the situation and keep pushing his extreme agenda on the American people. Our country cannot afford to let this go unaddressed, and House Republicans know that border security is national security. That is why we passed the Secure the Border Act earlier this Congress, which is the strongest border security package in American history. It’s past time for the Biden administration to act.

Last week on Tuesday, I spoke at a reception for the fight against Antimicrobial Resistance and Valley Fever Fungal Infections. I spoke on the urgent need for Congress to pass the bipartisan PASTEUR Act, which I helped reintroduce in April. The PASTEUR Act encourages innovative drug development to develop a pipeline of new antibiotics.
