Friend,
Yesterday, House Caucus Leader Allison Russo and I introduced new legislative district maps. I'm sure you're wondering why we are proposing these maps now after we used the last set for only one election. It's confusing, so I want to explain our reasoning.

Currently in Ohio, the Ohio Redistricting Commission (ORC) is supposed to meet once a decade to draw fair districts for the State Legislature and Congress. Last year, the Republican members refused to pass fair districts, not once, but 5 times! Each time, the Ohio Supreme Court ordered the ORC to go back to the drawing board and draw fair districts. That was until a Federal Court stepped in and mandated that the ORC adopt the current maps for one election cycle.
So now we're back, drawing maps again. Only this time, the Republicans who hold 5 out of 7 seats can't decide who should chair this commission. Ohioans don't deserve this bickering, we deserve maps that are fair and consistent.
That's why we introduced maps yesterday. We want to show the people of Ohio that it is possible to draw them in a timely manner. Republicans are not showing voters the same respect, and it's disheartening to say the least.
I know that's a lot of information to throw at you, but that's also why we need your help. Millions of Ohioans are going to be in new districts with new representatives, and we need to make sure they understand who they're voting for and where they're voting. Donating just $20 can make a huge impact and help us talk to 100 voters. [[link removed]] I really value your support, Friend, and wouldn't ask unless it was really important.

Even if you can't give right now, consider signing our letter to Governor DeWine and Secretary of State LaRose, telling them to sign onto the maps we suggested above. And share our letter with your friends and family. When I meet with them later today, I want to make sure that they know Ohioans want fair districts! [[link removed]]
Thank you for all of your support, and let's keep working because together we can win a fairer Ohio!
In Solidarity,
State Senator Nickie J. Antonio
