“I recently had to use a stop the bleed kit at our school, Rochelle Township High School, in Rochelle, IL. It SAVED this students life. I had it in my go bag and if I did not have it accessible, this student would have died. I got to the student within 3 minutes of incident happening, and he had close to half his blood lost due to an arterial bleed. The pressure bandage, quick clot, and tourniquet slowed the bleeding enough to keep him alive for EMS, our rural hospital, and ultimately flown out to a level 1 trauma center. My only hope is to bring more awareness, training, and ideas to all other surrounding school districts. I am teaching our all of our staff in August of this year!”

The Coalition is a community of individuals and organizations who are passionate about the STOP THE BLEED® campaign. The Coalition’s goal is to support the growth and impact of the campaign by providing access to information and services to the growing STOP THE BLEED® community as well as financial support to the STOP THE BLEED® Project.

STOP THE BLEED® is a national campaign to encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. It is a public/private partnership led by the Department of Defense and many other stakeholders, including the Stop the Bleed Coalition.
