Educating Congress
FNUSA, alongside National Survivor Network and Alliance to End Slavery and Trafficking, hosted a human trafficking 101 briefing for Congress. After the news wave following the release of Sound of Freedom and the child labor investigations into factories and restaurants, we wanted to provide an opportunity for Congress to hear essential information about effective ways to address human trafficking.

We prioritize a survivor-centered approach to our work, so the briefing was led by those with lived experience. Six expert speakers provided information about prevention, international social service efforts, accountable supply chains, and avoiding causing harm. We look forward to more conversations with our partners and congressional staff!

Teach Trafficking Truths Day

Earlier this summer, Sound of Freedom hit the box office and introduced human trafficking to hundreds of thousands of people. The film tackles human trafficking from a very narrow perspective, so we teamed up with several other well-known anti-trafficking organizations to share the reality in the US.

On September 6th, each of our partners held an Instagram Live with experts around the country. Click below to watch more and don’t forget to follow them on IG!
