Donald Trump is not serious about making our communities safer from gun violence.

Yesterday, the president stood before the nation and focused not on solutions that would keep guns out of the hands of people who shouldn’t have them, but on distractions.

He talked about video games and the internet, but not a single mention of background checks — the legislation virtually the entire nation supports.

And why is that? It’s because we have a president who marches in lockstep with the NRA, not the American people.
