Hello dear UNITED Friends,
as anticipated we are starting a very hectic season of activism, full of projects, events and campaigns.
Don't forget in fact that we have the REFUGIN International Civic Forum happening tomorrow at 10.30 am CEST and there are still some spots available, so hurry up and find all the info on how to register here.
REFUGIN 3rd Transnational Partner Meeting in Athens
Talking about REFUGIN project, we are also happy to share that on 5th and 6th of September we participated to the 3rd Transnational Partner Meeting of the REFUGIN project in Athens, to discuss milestones reached, timeline and next steps for the partnership. Together with the practicalities and actions to take for the implementation of the different working packages, there was space dedicated to the exploration of the situation of refugees and young refugeesโ integration/inclusion in Greece, led by KMOP, the host organisation of the meeting.
We as UNITED had the possibility to discover more about this amazing local reality but also to share our work on Mapping promising practices for the inclusion of refugees at European Level, renewing ur commitment for the success of the project.
R2COM project Trainings
Among the calls and initiatives launched in September, it's also worth mentioning the two trainings happening for the R2COM "Radicalisation and Violent Extremism Prevention in the Community," project. The first one is a in person training inย Toulouse from 17th to 19th of October and that is primarily focused on increasing awareness about radicalization and violent extremism.
Topics to be covered accordingly are:
the process of radicalization and its various phases, as delineated by models like the Three Pyramids Model and the Attitudes Behaviors Corrective Model, risk and protective factors according to Kruglanski et al. (2019),
diverse extremist ideologies such as Islamist, right-wing, left-wing, and single-issue extremism,
significant attention will be also given to the context of radicalization in both prison/probation settings and community settings.
For this course UNITED has helped selecting the Hungarian delegation and we're currently also promoting another one, happening online for dedicated professionals from NGOs and CSOs that aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of radicalisation and its implications within the context of post-release from prison.
The course has been specifically tailored for professionals based in

As this training is entirely conducted online, through e-Learning, you have the flexibility to progress at your preferred pace. Upon completion, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement as recognition for your efforts.
Activist Commitment
As part of our activist commitments, we are also supporting a Survey launched by ERASMUS Global partnership for
youth workers, activists or researchers that have engaged in Climate Action. The survey takes 7 minutes and if you decide to support it, you will have the chance to contribute to an independent study, of which you will receive a copy with a "Thank you" โ from the team and the trees
We are also supporting two different panels with our two directors, one happening on
Friday the 22nd of September and which is dedicated to
Combating Hate Speech in sports, held during the meeting of the EU general directors for sport organised by the Spanish
Ministerio de Cultura y Deporte as part of the
Presidencia espaรฑola del Consejo de la UE and that is seeing the participation of Balint Josa for UNITED and FARE Network, and the other one happening during
INACH annual conference, on
5th of October with the Director Geert Ates participating to the panel "AI policy and algorithmic transparency".
It's a very eventful time indeed so keep following u for more updates and, more importantly, for all the campaigns coming up! #stayunited
