Hi Friend,

Happy Voter Registration Day! Celebrated on the fourth Tuesday of September. National Voter Registration Day is a nonpartisan civic holiday celebrating our democracy. First observed in 2012, it has gained momentum ever since.

As we prepare for 2024, our Democracy For All (DFA) team is working hard to ensure that everyone has the tools they need to make their voices heard in this and every election. DFA is a national non-partisan voter registration program of LCV Education Fund focused on engaging communities of color. We aim to eliminate barriers to voting and secure a democracy rooted in racial justice and equity. By mobilizing young people and Black, Indigenous, and other people of color to participate civically, we are building a stronger, more representative democracy.

If you have not done so, please take 30 seconds today to check your voter registration status. We encourage you to use this day to register to vote! Already registered? Share the resources at the bottom of this email with your friends and family to ensure your circle is ready to vote and make your voices heard in our democracy!

Want to do more?

The U.S. House has reintroduced the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act — bringing our nation one step closer to a democracy for all. On this National Voter Registration Day, we must honor the late civil rights icon Congressman John Lewis by defending the right to vote and ensuring all voters have equitable access to the ballot box. After a decade of decisions by the Supreme Court weakening the landmark Voting Rights Act of 1965, it’s long past time to restore and update the Voting Rights Act. For democracy to work for all of us, it must include all of us. Congress must pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and ensure that all of our voices are heard.

Thank you,

Justin Kwasa
