We have a bit of a problem at the moment.

We’re over halfway through the month, and our fundraising is not where we expected it to be heading into the September 30th FEC deadline.

Chris promised we’d always be honest with you. So we’re going to give you the hard facts below, but if you already understand why this matters and are willing to contribute, you can click here to make your donation right now.

So first, the number of individual donations to our campaign is significantly down. We’re at 80% of what we had by this point in June — right before the last FEC deadline.

Second, our average online donation is down. Emails like this are our number one driver of donations, and in June, our average contribution from emails was $27.21. Right now, it’s hovering around $22.22.

So we have options for how to solve this. We either need a lot more donations, or we need people to give just a little bit more than they might otherwise.

We wish we didn’t have to ask, but with the cost of Senate races today, we cannot afford to miss our goal. So Chris is counting on a lot of people to make their first online contribution today — any amount you can afford will make a difference.

Please, if you can, donate any amount you spare before the FEC’s end-of-quarter deadline. We’re not on track to hit our goal, so we’re really counting on you.
