John,

Today I turn 58 years old!

I’m so blessed to live in the greatest country on God’s green earth, to run for president and share our optimistic, conservative message, and to have the support of donors like you.
My life almost didn’t turn out this way.

At 8 years old, my parents divorced. Mama, my brother, and I moved into a small 2-bedroom rental house on a dirt road that we shared with my grandparents.

I grew up mired in poverty, with little hope for the future. I thought playing football was my only way to get ahead.

By the time I was 18, my football career had begun to fade thanks to a broken ankle from a car crash that could’ve and maybe should’ve taken my life.

Thank God, my family and some special life mentors helped me start to change my perspective.

When I turned 20, I became a Christian and really began thinking less of what was in it for me and focusing more on how I could help other people.

I went on to graduate from college, start a small business, and serve my community in public office.

Today, I’m living the American Dream and I’m fighting to ensure everyone can do the same.

But it’s not guaranteed. It’s a way of life that’s hard-fought on every front, day by day, year by year. As we see under today’s leadership, there can be setbacks. We must keep fighting forward to keep the American Dream alive.

I’ll never stop fighting for you, John.

I’m so thankful to be healthy (my parents are still going strong and my grandfather lived to 94!) and I’m ready to win this race.

I hope you’re having a wonderful day. Thanks for all your support.

God Bless,

Tim Scott
