After being elected in 2012 as a self-described “darling” of the Tea Party
movement, Cruz quickly made a name for himself by…becoming an
embarrassment to Texas.

 1. During her confirmation hearings last year, Ted asked now Supreme
Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson if she thought babies were racist

 2. While running for reelection in 2018, Ted claimed that Beto O'Rourke —
his opponent at the time — wanted to ban BBQ in Texas❓ (Unclear if
this was his attempt at making a joke)
 3. In a failed attempt to gut the Affordable Care Act, Ted not only
engineered a needless government shutdown but also extended his
unnecessary filibuster by forcing his Senate colleagues to listen to
him read Dr. Seuss.

 4. In a truly bizarre moment during the 2016 presidential campaign, Ted’s
wife, Heidi, shared that the first thing they did after their
honeymoon was purchase “literally 100 cans of Campbell’s Chunky soup.”
Completely normal!

 5. And last but certainly not least — in February 2021, as Texans were
freezing in their homes during an unprecedented winter storm, what did
their junior senator do in response? Ted decided to flee to Cancun and
once he was rightfully condemned, he threw his wife and kids under the
bus 🚍.

All jokes aside, we’re tired,
John. Tired of these antics.
Tired of being embarrassed perpetually by a man who would rather spend his
days doing anything other than working on behalf of Texans.
