National Domestic Workers Alliance
============================
John — From Coco Gauff to Simone Biles to Sha’Carri Richardson to the Queens of Hip Hop to The Queen Bey herself, Black women are dominating headlines . And our greatness isn’t limited to sports and entertainment. We are organizing in our communities, running businesses and taking care of those around us.
My team and I are busy planning our upcoming We Dream in Black Organizing Institute, October 13 - 15, and this moment of Black Girl Magic is inspiring us to make sure this year’s Organizing Institute centers Black joy and power.
Themed, The Power Within , the Organizing Institute will uplift and empower Black domestic worker leaders, giving them the tools they need to transform domestic work into good jobs with fair wages and benefits.
I want to share with you our “Black Joy = Black Power” playlist [[link removed]] to help get you excited for the Organizing Institute.
I also want to ask you to help us to build power among Black domestic workers by supporting the Organizing Institute with a $25 donation [[link removed]] .
2023 will be the first time we’re hosting a hybrid in-person and virtual Organizing Institute — we want to make it bigger, bolder and more accessible. We can get there with your support.
Your gift will help us train hundreds of Black domestic workers so that we can continue to do what Black women have always done — push for equity and equality for all people.

Black women have been the backbone of this country for centuries, as slaves, domestic workers, farm workers, factory and retail workers. Through it all, we have been leading the movements for social justice, labor and reproductive rights and more.
That’s why the WeDiB Organizing Institute is so special, and so important in these crazy times. The more Black domestic workers we empower to lead, the better off all of our communities will be.

The 2022 We Dream in Black Organizing Institute brought together virtually over 300 domestic workers and supporters to connect, share, learn and strategize. I was reminded that, when Black women are given the tools to lead and are trusted to organize our communities, we always rise to the challenge to remind ourselves and show the world that our collective power, and that of other women of color, are unmatched.
With this year’s hybrid Organizing Institute, we hope to reach and train even more domestic workers to be leaders in their communities. Chip in $25 today and help us make the 2023 Organizing Institute the biggest, most impactful one yet. [[link removed]]

Black women consistently have to navigate that ugly place where racism, sexism and classism meet and, while it’s been a difficult obstacle to overcome, we somehow manage.
Our music, our fashion, our food, and culture have become vibrant expressions of our pain, but also of our joy and power. And we are able to channel all of that into our bold leadership.
Supporting Black women’s leadership is critical to NDWA and WeDiB’s mission of creating a caring society that works for everyone, not just the wealthy elite. We know this work is only possible because of the generous support from allies like you.
I hope that you support us, John, by donating $25 as we finalize our plans for this year’s Organizing Institute [[link removed]] . And I can’t wait to see what we do next.
In solidarity,
[[link removed]]Allison Julien, WeDiB Director
