Hi Friend,
Public health outcomes for entire populations are impacted by transportation policy. This is especially true for people marginalized by age, race, income, or ability. Despite many health issues being definitively connected to motor vehicle emissions, most transportation choices are made with limited input from the health sector, and with little consideration of racial or other health inequities.
Join me in facilitating a panel discussion with researchers from George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health on how transportation decisions and racial inequities affect population health outcomes in Washington, DC.
The webinar is this Thursday, September 21, from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. It will provide a framework and resources that can help attendees understand the dynamics among transportation, health, and racial inequities.
Speakers:
Dr. Janet Phoenix (M.D., M.P.H.), Assistant Research Professor, Departments of Health Policy and Management, GWU’s Milken Institute School of Public Health
Rachel Clark , Policy Director, Redstone Global Center for Prevention and Wellness, GWU’s Milken Institute School of Public Health
