I just got off the phone with my campaign manager Jake, and I wanted to quickly update you on our February online fundraising goal. Jake just crunched the numbers and he found that we’re still $7,153.35 short of our $40,000 email fundraising goal for the month. But to be honest with you John, I’ve been very distracted by what’s been happening this month in our gun safety movement...

We’ve marked so many milestones: National Gun Violence Survivor’s Week, the day that would have been my son Jordan’s 25th birthday, and the anniversaries of Parkland and the Trayvon Martin shooting in Florida, where Jordan was also killed.

Today marks one year since we sent historic universal background checks legislation from the House to Mitch McConnell’s desk, where it’s still sitting. 

We have to pass gun safety reforms now -- and I’m calling on Mitch McConnell and the Senate to get these bills to the floor for a vote. 

So, if you believe the gun safety work we’re doing in Washington is as important as ever, I’m humbly asking for your grassroots support.
