Clamp down on methane pollution

Dear John,

We’re all living through the growing threat of climate change. From asphyxiating wildfires to deadly heat waves to monster storms to floods and droughts. Global warming is already impacting our lives - and it will get worse.

But you only have the chance from now until October 2nd to demand that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) step up to clamp down on a dangerous climate accelerant responsible for a quarter of the warming we’re experiencing today: methane pollution.

The comment period is only open until October 2nd so take action today! Tell the EPA to strengthen reporting rules for the oil and gas industry to better measure and report on methane pollution that endangers us all.

We need better measuring and reporting!

With your support, EDF has been at the forefront of highlighting the global warming threat methane pollution represents to our communities and our planet.

Studies based on observed, measured emissions at the regional level show that current emission reporting underestimates methane pollution. This is unacceptable and dangerous.

EPA should require more robust reporting standards based on real world data to provide a full picture of total methane pollution at a local and regional level that also accounts for sudden, intermittent pollution events.

Holding the oil and gas industry accountable is central to EPA’s mission. EPA works for us, not the polluters. And they need to hear from you.

You have the power to fight climate change by demanding that EPA do their job and demand stronger standards to hold oil and gas producers accountable for the dangerous pollution their operations are imposing on you, me and every living creature on this planet.

We only have until October 2nd when this EPA comment period closes! Together, we will slash methane pollution and create a safer and healthier climate future.

Let's slash methane pollution!

In solidarity,

Taylor Vos
