Attached to the letter were some audio clips of witnesses testifying that they saw Lauren Boebert use illegal drugs at various points in her past. Boebert has vigorously denied using drugs in legal filings in an attempt to have our defamation lawsuit thrown out before trial. The veracity of these claims, and whether she uses drugs in the present day, must be examined.
We also asked the U.S. Attorney’s office to investigate whether Boebert was in possession of a firearm at the theater when she was kicked out for unruly and lewd conduct, and whether she may have been vaping substances that are illegal under federal law.
Our lawmakers, elected officials, and politicians must be held to high standards. The responsibility granted to Members of Congress, in particular, is too important and with stakes that impact the lives of millions of Americans in very real and oftentimes harmful ways.
Lauren Boebert’s conduct at the theater, as well as in many other troubling incidents, aside — the character of the people who vote on life or death issues in Washington, D.C. is an urgent matter of public concern. When elected officials behave like Lauren Boebert did in Denver last week, they should be held accountable, and should be willing to cooperate with law enforcement and submit to further scrutiny.
We will not stop calling out Boebert’s potentially illegal behavior, especially when so much is on the line right now and in this upcoming election. She simply must go — and if she won’t display the grace and decency to resign and let a real public servant (whether Republican or Democrat) take her place, then we have to work to throw her out of office. We need your help to do that — and so I am humbly asking if you will support our work to fight back against Boebert, who clearly believes she is above the law:
