INTRODUCING THE 2023 SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY AWARD RECIPIENTS Join us for the community celebration on November 17 We are so excited to announce that we will be honoring three extraordinary people with the 2023 William T. Newman Spirit of Community. Individually and collectively, these recipients represent the passion, commitment, and community advocacy that define the Award and the absolute best vision of what Arlington can be. Early bird registration is now open for the November 17 awards luncheon, so we look forward to you joining us in celebrating these individuals and our community: John Foti John has coached Arlington youth baseball for decades, and his investment in kids does not end with athletics. Most recently, John helped establish the all-volunteer After School Enrichment Matters (ASEM) which supports students of Arlington's eight Title 1 elementary schools in gaining access to free afterschool programming. Since its founding, ASEM has awarded over $125,000 to Title 1 elementary schools in Arlington, providing over 4,000 students access to theater, dance, soccer, robotics, and field trips.
