I’m running for Congress because even though progress isn’t always flashy, and it certainly isn’t easy, I want to help ensure my three young kids and generations to come, are able to live happy and healthy lives.
As this legislative session in the California Senate comes to a close, I'm filled with gratitude. It has not been an easy year, but our beloved state deserves every ounce of commitment we can muster to protect and uplift our diverse communities and incredible natural beauty.
I’ve been privileged to champion initiatives this session that are creating real change:
- My 30x30 Bill: We've taken a groundbreaking step in environmental conservation. Our goal to protect 30% of California's lands and waters by 2030 isn't just a dream — it's a commitment, one I’ve made with my little ones to ensure our Golden State remains resilient and thriving for them and generations to come.
- Combating Hate: No individual should ever feel unsafe or marginalized. As the only Koren American in the California legislature, I’ve advocated for legislation to tackle the rise in Asian hate and street harassment head-on. Together, we're ensuring California remains a beacon of acceptance and love.
- Safe E-Bike Practices: E-Bikes symbolize the harmony of innovation and sustainability, but as we look to a more sustainable future, we must do so with both enthusiasm and caution. I’m proud to lead the charge in establishing the best safety practices and rules for this green mode of transport.
- Protecting Survivors: We must do anything in our power to support survivors of domestic violence, and facilitate justice and access to care. I’m proud of my bill that was signed into law which grants survivors free access to evidence in order to easily seek and receive the protection and care that will keep them safe.
But I’m running for Congress because I want to do more. I want to help bring the progress we’ve made in California to the rest of the country, but I can’t do it without your help.
