John — yet again, the GOP-controlled legislature is betraying North Carolinians by threatening to break their promise to expand Medicaid.

After missing the deadline to pass a budget for our state, Republicans have spent the summer arguing in back rooms over far-right priorities. For months, they couldn’t even come to an agreement within their own party. But it gets worse.

Over the weekend, Republican leaders announced an underhanded deal that would only allow Medicaid Expansion to go into effect if we support their backroom deal that allows casinos with their chosen developer to operate in North Carolina.

This is the most brutally dishonest legislative scheme I’ve seen in my 3+ decades in public service.

We need to demand our elected officials uphold their promises to the people of this state. Please, add your name beside mine to demand Republicans set aside this partisan gamesmanship and expand Medicaid like they promised >>>

John, you’re right to be suspicious of this proposal.

Republicans have made it clear: Something has a hold on them and it’s not their constituents. We can’t let them get away with this.
