Dear John,
For the first time in more than a hundred years, three branches of our armed forces are operating without confirmed commanders – and, outrageously, Rep. Bergman, a retired Lt. General, supports this obstruction.
As of the date of this email, the Army, Navy, and Marines are unable to get their commanders confirmed by the Senate – because Sen. Tuberville is upset that service members are allowed to travel to receive reproductive healthcare.
When interviewed about these vacancies on Fox Business, Rep. Bergman said that he supports Tuberville’s efforts to keep these posts vacant, even as this blockade HURTS military families, HARMS national security, and HINDERS the military’s ability to retain and recruit talent.
Let me be explicitly clear:
Anyone willing to compromise military readiness for personal political showboating is unfit to serve in Congress.
When I'm in Congress, you can rest assured that I will put our country first, and I will never use our troops and their families as bargaining chips. Sadly, we can't expect the same from Rep. Bergman.
Chip in today to help me unseat this unserious, obstructionist Representative and elect someone who will prioritize the necessary work of defending our country and supporting our military families.
