In just a minute, I’m going to ask you to make a donation to my campaign. I hope you’ll give me a chance to explain why this request — especially today — is so important.
Tomorrow at midnight, we’re closing the books on February, and we still haven’t hit our fundraising goal yet. That’s a big deal because hitting our monthly fundraising goals is how we stay on track to report a really great number when our FEC report goes public at the end of this quarter.
I’ll be honest, all eyes are on us. The national Republican establishment is watching because they know Senator Collins is vulnerable, and they’re looking to see whether our campaign has what it takes to finally beat her.
The answer is yes, we do. But in order to prove it, we need to hit our February fundraising goal. That’s why I have to ask:
I am so proud not just of all we’ve accomplished since we launched this campaign, but because of the way we’ve chosen to run our campaign. Our commitment to fund our work through grassroots donations might make our jobs a little harder, but it’s more than worth it.
