Dear Friend,

Later this month, the GOPIF Climate Team will welcome members of the Maine Climate Council and its expert working groups to the Augusta Civic Center, to begin work updating Maine's bold climate action plan, Maine Won't Wait. ([link removed])

The meeting of the Maine Climate Council is Friday, Sept. 29, starting at 9 a.m. The Council must deliver an updated plan to Governor Janet Mills and the Maine Legislature by Dec. 1, 2024.

With space limited at the Augusta Civic Center, members of the public interested in following the meeting are encouraged to register for the livestream, which will be hosted as a Zoom webinar. Registration for the meeting is now available by clicking the button below.

Attendees will hear from experts about climate impacts in Maine, youth leading the way on local climate action, the diverse experiences of Maine people on the climate frontlines, and how climate solutions are driving investment and opportunities in Maine's economy and workforce.

In addition, there will be an overview of the upcoming Maine Climate Council planning process, and discussion of how the perspectives and priorities of Maine people will be invited throughout.
