Hunters: Chance to win great prizes when you submit a CWD sample

CHEYENNE ? Hunters are critical to monitoring chronic wasting disease in Wyoming, a fatal disease that affects moose, elk and deer. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is once again asking hunters to provide lymph node samples from their harvested deer, elk and moose this fall to test for CWD. In return for samples, hunters may be eligible to win hunting gear.


Game and Fish Commission approves cool-warm water facility at Speas Hatchery

GILLETTE? ? The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission met last week in Gillette for its September meeting. The Commission voted to approve the Wyoming Game and Fish Department?s proposed cool-warm water facility at Speas Hatchery in Casper. The facility will provide the ability to rear cool-warm water game fish such as walleye and channel catfish in Wyoming.


Make sure you have your conservation stamp

CHEYENNE ? Hunters getting ready for their Wyoming hunts must have a conservation stamp before heading afield this fall. Licensed hunters must purchase a conservation stamp valid for 12 months. Holders of a daily hunting license are exempt. Refer to Wyoming Game and Fish Department regulations for specific license holders who are exempt. Lifetime license holders can purchase a lifetime conservation stamp.


Reminder about regulation changes for Wyoming youth deer hunters

Youth Hunting Regulations

CHEYENNE ? The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is alerting youth deer hunters to a regulation change for the 2023 season. Youth hunters possessing a full-price, youth deer license may no longer harvest mule deer does or fawns during an antlered deer season. This is a change from previous years.
